- LASIK – LASIK is a precise laser procedure that reshapes your cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. We create a thin flap in the cornea’s surface, then use an excimer laser to reshape the underlying tissue. The flap is repositioned, acting as a natural bandage. Most patients achieve 20/20 vision or better, and can typically return to work within 24-48 hours.
- Refractive Lens Exchange – RLE is essentially the same procedure as cataract surgery, but performed before cataracts develop. We remove your eye’s natural lens and replace it with an advanced artificial intraocular lens (IOL). This procedure is particularly effective for patients over 40 with severe farsightedness or those developing presbyopia. RLE can eliminate the need for reading glasses or bifocals and prevents future cataract formation.
- EVO ICL – The EVO ICL is a biocompatible soft lens that we implant in front of your natural lens to correct moderate to severe nearsightedness. Unlike LASIK, this procedure doesn’t remove any corneal tissue, making it ideal for patients with thin corneas or high prescriptions. The lens is invisible once implanted and can be removed if needed, though this is rarely necessary.
- Keratoconus Treatment – For patients with keratoconus, where the cornea progressively thins and bulges outward, we offer corneal cross-linking to strengthen and stabilize the cornea. This procedure uses riboflavin drops and controlled UV light to create new collagen bonds in your cornea, preventing further deterioration. We may combine this with specialized contact lenses or other treatments depending on your condition’s severity.
- PRK – PRK was the precursor to LASIK and remains an excellent option for certain patients. Instead of creating a corneal flap, we gently remove the surface layer of the cornea before reshaping the underlying tissue with a laser. While recovery takes longer than LASIK (5-7 days), PRK is often recommended for patients with thin corneas or those in high-impact professions. The final visual results are comparable to LASIK.
